We are very pleased to announce that our Trainee Public Analyst, Emma Downie, has achieved the Mastership in Chemical Analysis (MChemA) qualification required to be appointed as a Public Analyst.
Emma said "I'm really happy to have completed the qualification, and look forward to being part of the great team here at PASS."
Liz Moran, Head of PASS, said "we are delighted that Emma's training and hard work over the last few years have paid off. Public analysts have a key role to play in ensuring the safety of the food chain and it is reassuring to see newly qualified analysts coming through the training process and continuing the resilience and sustainability of the profession."
Emma will join the six-strong team of public analysts at Public Analyst Scientific Services Limited providing services to local authorities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Notes:
Public analysts are statutorily appointed to test food for compliance with safety and standards requirements. All local authorities in the UK must appoint a public analyst. The Mastership in Chemical Analysis is a post-graduate qualification awarded by the Royal Society of Chemistry and is a combination of analytical chemistry and law. Public Analyst Scientific Services (PASS) is part of the worldwide life sciences group Eurofins Scientific S.E.
